About this event
Public Engagement on the Menu is a new lunch and learn series that brings the UAlbany community together to explore what public engagement looks like in practice. Through conversation and shared examples, participants will consider why this work matters, how to build strong and lasting university–community partnerships and how to include voices too often left out of the conversation. Join us to exchange ideas, learn from one another and find new ways to connect our work with the communities we serve. Pull up a chair for our inaugural program, What? That’s public engagement? We’ll explore the many ways UAlbany faculty, students and staff work with communities to put knowledge into action—and why those connections matter. Whether public engagement is already part of your work or you’re wondering where to begin, come share ideas, hear examples from colleagues and leave with fresh possibilities to consider. Pizza and dessert will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer. Our faculty and staff engagement experts will serve as conversation guides, sharing their experiences and helping lead the discussion.
