About this event
What gets lost when a book is censored? Drop in and create your own collage using images from frequently challenged and banned books. Cut, layer, remix, redact and reimagine book covers using collage materials, black censorship bars and your own words and artwork. Your finished piece can celebrate a book, respond to censorship or explore what disappears when stories, voices and ideas are removed from shelves. No artistic experience needed—all materials will be provided. Come make something, discover challenged books and celebrate the freedom to read. This crafting event is part of the University Libraries Banned Books Week Programming. Hosted by: University Libraries Thrive UAlbany connects you with people, programs and resources for health, career readiness, financial wellness and belonging—helping you make the most of your UAlbany experience now and beyond graduation.
